The NRA Has Finally Broken its Silence After the Newtown Massacre
The NRA hasn't said a word since the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary — until now. The nation's most powerful pro-gun organization has emerged with the official bullshit it would like to spoonfeed you in the wake of arguably the worst mass shooting in American history. Everyone got their bibs tucked in?
The NRA is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters –
See, the NRA is just a bunch of regular ol' American families. Families like yours. Families with toys under the Christmas tree... well, Bushmaster rifles under the Christmas tree. But anyway, you do love America, right?
and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.
Okay.
Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.
Out of an intense, unending desire for self-preservation, we said nothing in the hope that people would focus as little on us as humanly possible. Remember, after the mass murder of 20 children at the hands of someone wielding an automatic rifle is just not the time to talk about gun control.
The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.
(Void if the following: anything that would in any way keep guns out of the hands of Americans.)
