Irrespective of the inevitable politics that will be attached to this image, it is certainly apt that the first viral Facebook photo of the year is a TMI shot of a baby pulling itself out of her mother's womb.

The birth itself took place nearly three months ago, when Alicia Atkins of Arizona underwent a C-section with husband Randy by her side.

"The doctor called me over and said, ‘Hey, she's grabbing my finger,'" Randy recalled to 3TV News. "So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it. It was such an amazing picture."

Somewhat ironically, it's Alicia who is the professional photographer in the family.

Owner of the Glendale-based A Classic Pin-Up photo studio, Alicia put the photo up on her Facebook page for family and friends to see.

But, much to her surprise, the photo took off to places far and wide, amassing over 1,300 likes in a week.

"We didn't think we were going to get such positive feedback. We thought we would get more negative ‘that's disgusting,'" Alicia told KTVK. "[Instead] everybody just thought it was the best thing in the world."

Baby Nevaeh — that's "Heaven" spelled backwards — is doing fine.
