After an extensive two-day manhunt, authorities say they have found the body of Bradley William Stone, the Pennsylvania man suspected of killing his ex-wife and five of her family members. According to sources cited by WPVI-TV, Stone's self-inflicted injuries came from a sword.

On Tuesday, Stone's corpse was discovered just 200 yards from his Pennsburg, Pennslyvania home with "self-inflicted cutting wounds in the center part of his body."

From the Toronto Star:

Stone, a 35-year-old former Marine sergeant locked in a custody dispute so bitter that his ex-wife feared for her life, went on a 90-minute shooting rampage before daybreak Monday at three homes a few kilometres apart, authorities said.

As the manhunt dragged on — with SWAT teams swarming through neighbourhoods and the Philadelphia police sending in a heat-sensing helicopter — at least five schools near Stone's Pennsburg home closed, and others were locked down.

"There's no reason, no valid excuse, no justification for snuffing out these six innocent lives and injuring another child," said District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman at a press conference today.
