Another Teen Stabbing Linked to Mythological Creature Slender Man
A Cincinnati mom claimed over the weekend that her 13-year-old daughter may have attacked her because she was influenced by the mythological creature Slender Man. This is the second stabbing linked to the character, who's been popularized on the CreepyPasta Wiki.
The mom, who spoke to WLWT News 5 on Friday but asked not to be identified, describes the alleged attack:
"I came home one night from work and she was in the kitchen waiting for me and she was wearing a mask, a white mask ... She had her hood up and had her hands covered with her sleeves and the mask. She was someone else during that attack."
She claims her daughter attacked her with a knife. The girl is facing charges as a juvenile, and the mom was treated for minor injuries, including "cuts on her neck and face and a puncture wound on her back." After reading about the two twelve-year-old girls in Wisconsin who allegedly stabbed their friend to please Slender Man, the mom thinks her daughter had the same motivation. "We found things that she had written and she made references to Slender Man. She also made references to killing," she said.
The two 12-year-olds' alleged attack was more severe — their friend was stabbed 19 times and left in the woods earlier this month. According to the Associated Press, the girls claimed they were "proxies" of Slender Man after the attack. One of the girls told investigators last week that Slender Man "watches her and can read her mind and teleport." They will be tried as adults.
CreepyPasta Wiki made a statement following the Wisconsin attack, claiming the site "does not endorse or advocate for the killing, worship, and otherwise replication of rituals of fictional works." The site administrator has not commented on these new allegations.
