This week Arizona's Republican governor, Jan Brewer, signed its anti-revenge-porn law onto the books. The Arizona law makes it a felony to "intentionally disclose, display, distribute, publish, advertise or offer a photograph, videotape, film or digital recording of another person in a state of nudity or engaged in specific sexual activities if the person knows or should have known that the depicted person has not consented to the disclosure."

It's just the latest in the recent wave of such laws. Arizona is the sixth state to finalize such legislation so far this year, after Georgia, Idaho, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. More than 20 other states still have bills pending, per the National Conference of State Legislatures. And legislation in Maryland and Hawaii is ready to go, just awaiting signatures from those states' respective governors. We're also waiting on a proposed federal bill that Rep. Jackie Speier said she was planning to introduce back at the end of March.

Only Idaho and Arizona, so far, have made the crime a felony.
