At least six people were injured in a shooting this morning at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, Georgia. More than 50 law enforcement officers have responded to the scene, though the gunman reportedly remains at large (UPDATE: The suspect was found dead, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound).

"We have multiple victims at this time that have been transported to a local area hospital," Cobb County Police Officer Mike Bowman said in a statement. "We have multiple agencies assisting us with this incident. The area around the building has been secured and the officers are now clearing the incident location. This is still an active and fluid situation."

FBI bomb techs and ATF agents are reportedly assisting at the scene.

FedEx has confirmed the shooting at the warehouse, which is located about 27 miles north of Atlanta.

"FedEx is aware of the situation," spokesman Scott Fiedler said in a statement. "Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our team members, first responders and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities."

One worker from the warehouse spoke to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"(My boss) called me about 6 o'clock this morning saying there was a guy inside," Michael Hogland said. "Shot a security guard. He had a gun pointed at (my boss) and said, 'Don't worry about getting here on time.'"

UPDATE 8:51 am: The suspected gunman is dead, according to Kennesaw police.

Police say they believe the suspect acted alone. "We are not looking for anybody else at this point," said Cobb Couty Police spokesman Dana Pierce told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

UPDATE 9:14 am: Mashable spoke to an employee at the facility who witnessed the shooting. Collin Harrison said the alleged shooter was an employee at the warehouse.

"Me and another employer were talking about him and how he requested to take off Saturday," Harrison said. "But his manager told him no. He took off anyway, and he didn't show up this morning. We thought maybe he just quit."

Harrison said the shooter was wearing all black and had shotgun shells strapped across his left shoulder.

"I'm loading my truck for maybe two hours when I hear this scream, like a woooooo," said Harrison."Then I hear this lady scream right after. It was really loud, so I look over to where the entrance is, and I don't see anything, but then I hear managers over radios and they're like, 'Everybody get out of the building!'"
