Bill Cosby Charged With Three Sexual Assault Counts Relating To 2004 Incident
In a press conference this morning, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office in Pennsylvania announced that it has filed three charges of “aggravated indecent assault” against Bill Cosby relating to an alleged rape that took place in 2004.

One of the charges state that the victim was incapacitated during the assault. Several reports indicate that the victim in the case is ex-Temple University basketball player Andrea Constand, whose history as the most active of Cosby’s alleged victims was covered extensively by Deadspin’s Diana Moskovitz:
It was Constand who sued Cosby in civil court in 2005, with a dozen anonymous “Jane Doe” victims named as witnesses. It was during this suit that Cosby gave a deposition stating that he drugged women with quaaludes in order to have sex with them. After a long legal battle, those documents were released by a federal judge this past summer.
According to Montgomery County DA Kevin Steele, who delivered today’s press conference, the state was motivated to charge Cosby with these crimes because the statute of limitations on the counts is 12 years, meaning they would have expired sometime next month. Cosby will reportedly be arraigned later today.
