Bus Driver With 'Not See' License Plate Turns Out to Be a Nazi
The California Department of Motor Vehicles has recalled a vanity license plate that reads "NOT SEE" after the school bus driver who ordered it turned out to be a Nazi.
The plate was canceled after a photo of the plate — which is positioned on the man's private vehicle just below a very Nazi swastika — resulted in a local news investigation.
After a phone call to the DMV, 10News learned that plate and the BMW it's attached to belonged to Kearny Mesa resident Shawn Calpito, a driver for the San Diego Unified School District.
Since news of the plate went public, Calpito has been suspended from his job and placed on paid leave "pending investigation."
"This one is so subtle that without the other symbol, there's no way for someone regulating this to realize this is supporting Nazis," civil rights attorney Jim McElroy told the news station.
Seriously, though. How did they not see this coming?
