Florida congressman and cocaine-fueled hypocrite Trey Radel announced Wednesday night that he will take a leave of absence from his job—during which time he will donate his salary—in order to enter an inpatient drug treatment center. He will not resign from his position.

Just hours before the announcement, Radel pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor possession of cocaine charge and was sentenced to one year of probation with a $250 fine, which is $10 less than he paid for the blow he bought from undercover DEA agents last month.

"I have no excuse for what I have done. I have let down our country. I've let down my family,” Radel said during a press conference, adding that his wife was his “rock.”

As many have pointed out, “rock” was perhaps not the best choice of words to use during a presser about seeking help for your alleged cocaine addiction.

"I believe in forgiveness and redemption," said Radel. "I hope southwest Florida can forgive me for this. I've let them down.”

No word yet if the apology has given him a bump in the polls.
