Conan O'Brien Stars in Obvious Oscar-Bait Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda
Hope Conan O'Brien's got room on his shelf for a few more awards, because the movie he's picked for his dramatic acting debut, Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda, is the kind of incisive picture about the human condition that Academy voters go nuts for.
And by "the human condition," I mean, of course, "being caught in the middle of a battle between a shark-octupus and a pterodactyl-barracuda." And by "go nuts for," I mean "dismiss without watching."
But hey, it was the first (and only) movie role Conan was offered, so he couldn't say no.
Helmed by iconic camp director Roger Corman (Death Race 2000, the original Sharktopus), Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda premieres on SyFy in August. It will be followed up by Sharktopus vs. Mermantula, starring Casper "Starship Troopers" Van Dien.
