Upon the closing of polls in New York tonight, Donald Trump was declared the victor in the state’s primary by several news outlets including the AP and NBC.

As of this moment it appears that it will be a decisive victory. CNN is projecting that Ted Cruz will take home zero delegates tonight, which would leave the state’s 95 delegates to be sorted between Trump and John Kasich. Per FiveThirtyEight, Trump would take home 14 delegates if he wins at least 50 percent of the total vote. The other 81 delegates will be portioned out by district, and though a second-place Kasich could conceivably nab a couple, tonight is shaping up to be a gluttonous one for Trump.

The Washington Post’s Dave Weigel notes if Trump does indeed get over 50 percent, as he’s currently projected, it would be the first state in which he scored a majority. Trump would also be the first Republican candidate to crack 50 percent in his home state.
