Early Morning Anti-Terrorism Raids Take Place Across France
Anti-terrorism forces undertook coordinated raids across France early Monday morning, The Guardian reports. Details are scarce but raids were reported to have taken place in Toulouse, Grenoble, Calais, and at least one Paris suburb.
At least three people were reportedly taken into custody in the Toulouse raid. Another raid was reported in Jeumont, close to the French border with Belgium.
According to The Guardian, the police units involved in the raids are part of RAID (Recherche Assistance Intervention Dissuasion) and GIPN (Groupes d’Intervention de la Police Nationale).
