Former Disney Superstar Defends New 'Working Class' Job at Restaurant
Dylan Sprouse, co-star of Disney's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody along with his twin brother Cole, was recently spotted by fans working a "lowly" hosting gig at a NYC restaurant.
Rumors proceeded to run rampant that Sprouse had "lost all his money" and was therefore left with no choice but to seek menial work to pay the bills.
The 21-year-old finally broke his silence on the matter in a Tumblr post aimed at setting the record straight:
So many pictures have gotten out that I’m now working as a host at a restaurant in NY. To clear up the air (which is admittedly pretty rude), I did not take this job because I “lost all my money”, I am financially secure, and took this job as a way to primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction. I also too this as a way to try a new experience, working somewhat below the means I’m used to, as well as a way to socialize and get out of the house. I feel most comfortable when I’m working and doing something, to criticize someone of that is pretty odd. I will potentially return to acting someday, but in no way do I think any experience is a step down for me, but rather a new step in another direction.
Sprouse recently broke his silence on another matter: Why he and his brother walked away from another season of their cash cow TV series.
On "Conversations with Nat," Sprouse revealed that Disney summarily rejected their final season idea, only to turn around and try to pitch them the very same idea minus the credit but plus Miami.
They immediately turned Disney down.
Sprouse has since started studying video game design "with a double major in poetry and studio art" at NYU.
