You oafish hillbillies who spend your time reading Gawker.com may not realize this, but respectable people who went to respectable schools like Yale have their very own high class private clubs in Manhattan. Do not sully them with your tasteless “novelty” t-shirts!

Page Six notes today that quite the kerfuffle is currently consuming the Yale Club like a tidal wave of less-than-acceptable Bordeaux breaking over a beach made of some book written in French (metaphorically). It seems that standards at this once-upright institution have gotten so lax that some gentlemen—and we use that word with our lips pursed and quivering—have taken to dressing as if they were attending a rock-and-roll show rather than an establishment of fine dining and racquet sports! Emily Smith reports:

One member wrote in a letter to the club, “A horrifying example of this denouement, this sad decline in the atmosphere and spirit of the club, occurred on September 5 in the men’s locker room. A young man (a Yale law student) was wearing a tee shirt emblazoned in large letters with: ‘F - - k Forever.’ I was shocked and told him that it was offensive and inappropriate; that this was a club for ladies and gentlemen. He smirked. Why was he allowed through the front door? Why did those on duty at the desk at the locker room allow him to enter? Why was he allowed to walk around the club dressed as such? Is there no decency at the club anymore, no class? Will the management be held accountable (and members)?”

Where did this young ruffian attend school—Penn? Unspeakably boorish.

If you send me a photo of yourself wearing a “Fuck Forever” shirt in the Yale club I will totally put it on Gawker.com.
