To make sure everyone buys everyone the best gifts ever, this year Gawker has divided the universe of potential gift recipients into readers of our Gawker Media brother and sister sites.

If there's one Gawker Media site that places little-to-no value on material possessions, it's Gizmodo.com. So the best gift you can buy the Gizmodo reader in your life is a donation to his or her favorite charity.

But if you insist on purchasing an actual, wrappable present, you're in luck: There's no shortage of quality gifts for technology fans. There are the obvious picks, of course, like the iPad Mini or the (much less expensive) Google Chromecast. One gadget I bought myself this year—in part because the Gizmodo staffers, who sit behind me, are so loud—is a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 15 noise canceling-headphones (NOTE: While I recommend them, Gizmodo put the Boses at fourth on their 2012 list of the best noise-canceling headphones).

What do you think would make a good present for a Gizmodo reader? Or what sort of gadget are you hoping to receive this Christmas? An Amazon Kindle? A new laptop? Perhaps a digital camera? Tell us your favorite tech gifts in the comments below. To make the process easier for everyone, be sure to follow these very simple rules when making your suggestions:

1. Begin with the name of the gift, in bold, followed by the price.

2. If there's a photograph, post that below the name and price.

3. Describe the gift and why the sort of person who reads Gizmodo would like it.

4. Indicate where an interested reader can purchase the gift, linking out to an online retailer if appropriate. Which online retailer? That's up to you. But if you link out to Amazon.com, a nifty little box will appear allowing readers to click a little thingie and buy it right there, which is pretty neat. Even neater, Gawker will get a cut of the purchase price. Do what you will with that information. Get gifting!
