Hedge Fund Manager Shot to Death by Son in Manhattan Apartment: Cops
Police are trying to find the son of a Manhattan hedge fund manager who allegedly shot his father to death inside a multimillion-dollar Sutton Place apartment Sunday.
Thomas Gilbert Sr., the founder and president of Wainscott Capital Partners, a $200 million healthcare fund, was found dead in his apartment Sunday afternoon. Cops say a woman—identified by the Wall Street Journal as "the alleged shooter's mother"—discovered Gilbert's body and called 911.
Police believe 30-year-old Thomas Gilbert Jr. killed his father during an argument about their relationship and fled the building on foot. He's been on the run since around 3:30 on Sunday, the New York Daily News reports.
