Elliot Rodger, the 22-year-old who is linked to a drive-by shooting near UC Santa Barbara's campus yesterday, had uploaded a video last night that revealed his motives, claiming "I'll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you," after a long monologue against women.

Elliot Rodger's YouTube page is full of video diaries that express his deep loneliness, and a few Facebook pages have popped up that reveal his participation on a body building forum called BodySpace.

The Santa Barbara Independent is reporting that Elliot Rodger's BMW was found on the scene:

Photographs taken by The Santa Barbara Independent of the suspect's crashed vehicle on Del Playa Drive show a license plate number that matches the one on the car featured on Rodger's Facebook page.

UPDATE 1:56 pm: Elliot Rodger's family has confirmed his identity and said that he was receiving psychiatric treatment. From the BBC:

The lawyer for the alleged gunman's father, Peter Rodger, said his son was diagnosed with "highly functional Asperger's syndrome" as a child.

His mother contacted the police and a social worker after a YouTube video was posted recently, the lawyer added.
