A giant hole at a Mississippi IHOP opened up wide and gobbled an extra-large serving of pavement and cars on Sunday, finally reaching “that full feeling” after eating 12 cars, trucks and SUVs.

A section of the parking lot caved in on Saturday night, creating a hole about 35 feet wide and 400 feet long, according to the Associated Press. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.

Meridian Public Safety Director Buck Roberts told The Meridian Star the collapse was not a sinkhole but didn’t provide any further details.

It’s not clear what it could be if not a sinkhole — an underground tunnel? But as long as we’re on the subject, here’s a reminder that sinkholes are actually much scarier than they sound.
