As the search for missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 resumed Monday morning, the head of Indonesia's national search and rescue agency said at a press conference that the plane is "likely at the bottom of the sea."

"(Because) the coordinate that was given to us and the evolution from the calculation point of the flight track is at sea, our early conjecture is that the plane is in the bottom of the sea," Marsdya Tni Hendry Bambang said, according to CNN.

The exact location of the plane still isn't known, Bambang added, and officials have expanded the search area to include some land in western Borneo. Indonesia has sent twelve ships, three helicopters, and five military aircrafts to search for the plane in the Java Sea. Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore have also sent ships and aircrafts to aide the search.

Flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic controllers Sunday morning as it traveled from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore with 155 passengers and 7 crew members on board.
