Perhaps you've noticed that Chris Brown has been walking around wearing a new chain recently. Some blogs have reported that this nice piece of jewelry bears a striking resemblance to a necklace Rihanna once kissed in a mysterious undated black-and-white photograph. Could Brown be sending secret signals about his love to/for Rihanna?

This extremely important development was first flagged by MediaTakeOut in a story headlined "MTO WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Chris Brown And Rihanna . . . TOGETHER AGAIN . . . And We've Got RECEIPTS!!!" The receipt, as it were, is below: a photo juxtaposition of Brown during a recent performance on The Tonight Show with the one of Rihanna kissing a necklace (the origins of which are unspoken).

At first glance the necklaces do look similar. But Brown didn't just wear it on The Tonight Show, so there are better shots of it elsewhere. Here he is wearing it one day later:

Here's another shot from the same event, with the pendant clearly visible over a t-shirt that looks like it has the word "ceviche" printed above an image of a tree in a desert (exclusive designer shit, you wouldn't understand):

These two shots of the necklace, from what I can tell, provide pretty clear evidence that Brown is not wearing Rihanna's chain. Both pendants have wings, but where the one in the Rihanna photo is probably an angel, it looks like Brown's is some sort of bee-like creature (that Honey Nut Cheerios swag). The telltale difference is that Brown's pendant has two arms hanging at its side—he's a real boy!—whereas Rihanna's clearly does not.

Further evidence comes from this Daily Mail post that has photos of Brown shopping with his current girlfriend Karrueche Tran. You can clearly see the bee chain on Brown's neck. Chris Brown is inarguably an enormous dickhead, but wearing his ex-girl's chain while on a shopping trip with his current girl seems especially cruel even by his standards. Tran, for her part, posted the below photo to Instagram three days ago.

Chris Brown will probably never get over Rihanna—or interview questions about Rihanna—but, alas, Chainghazi appears to be the same as the real Benghazi: a controversy invented by bored bloggers. (It also involves a terrorist. Chris Brown.)
