ISIS has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Brussels that killed dozens of people this morning. In its statement, the terrorist group identified Belgium as “a country participating in the international coalition against the Islamic State.”

The group made its claim to the explosions via the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq, saying in a statement that, “Islamic State fighters carried out a series of bombings with explosive belts and devices on Tuesday, targeting an airport and a central metro station in the center of the Belgian capital of Brussels.”

Recent reports put the death toll for the attacks at 34—14 in the airport explosions and 20 in the metro station—with another 198 injured.

Salah Abdeslam, a suspect in the November terrorist attacks on Paris, was captured in Belgium last week. ISIS claimed responsibility in the wake of those attacks as well, calling them “the first of the storm.”
