Two major court decisions today will allow gay couples to get married in Indiana and Utah. In Indiana, a judge ruled that the state's gay marriage ban is unconstitutional, and in Utah, a federal appeals court ruled that the state can't ban gay marriage.

Indiana's attorney general has promised to appeal today's decision, but the judge did not issue a stay, so gay couples can get married in the state immediately.

The Associated Press reports that the Utah case could eventually reach the Supreme Court, though that wouldn't happen until next year at the earliest.

Update: Utah's attorney general announced that he does plan to appeal to the Supreme Court.
