Kevin Spacey Stopped a Play to Deal With Some Jerk's Ringing Cellphone
Kevin Spacey is currently starring as legendary attorney Clarence Darrow at London's Old Vic Theatre, and, although he's played the role at that same theatre before (in Inherit the Wind), his performance in Clarence Darrow is especially challenging because he's doing it in the round. The last thing he needs is some asshole's ringtone messing it up for him.
As a theatregoer's phone grew louder and louder during the show, Spacey became increasingly agitated. He finally snapped, yelling, "If you don't answer that, I will!"
And did he break character? Hell no. Kevin Spacey is a professional.
The audience immediately applauded his swift shutting-down of the etiquette-breaching jerk, and gave him a standing ovation at the end of the night.
