Man Crashes His Drone Into the Empire State Building, Then Tweets About It
Drones, man. They’re up to no good, and so are the people who fly them.
Sean Nivin Riddle was surely up to no good on Thursday night, when he flew a small drone into the 40th floor of the Empire State Building in New York City. According to NBC New York, Riddle, a resident of New Jersey, was trying to take photos of the building. He was arrested after the drone crashed, falling to a landing on the 35th floor.
Thankfully, Riddle documented his subsequent arrest for all of us, and for posterity, to admire forever.

There are actually no ordinances outlawing drones in New York City, but pilots can be charged with reckless endangerment if officials think they’re posing a problem. This can come with a punishment of up to seven years in prison. Rivin has yet to announce whether his photos of a building that has been photographed literally millions of times were nice enough to warrant the risk.
