Manhunt Underway for Georgia Man Accused of Killing Wife, Four Others
Police in Georgia are searching for a 26-year-old man who allegedly killed his wife, her grandparents, and two others sometime last week. The bodies of the victims, who range in age from 16 to 69, were discovered Saturday evening.
Thomas Jesse Lee is accused of killing his wife, Christie Lee, as well as her grandparents, her daughter from another marriage, and an unrelated teenager living in the grandparent's Lagrange, Georgia, home. Four of the victims were shot to death; police are still working to determine how the fifth was killed.
On Saturday , one of the victim's employers called the Troup County Sheriff's department after the victim missed several days of work; responding officers entered the house by force and discovered the bodies in separate rooms, according to Reuters. WSB-TV reports that investigators believe the killings took place sometime last week.
"[Lee] is not here at the home and we understand there may have been a dispute or something between one of the victims here. We have not been able to make contact with him at all," Troup County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Stewart Smith told WSB. "We're doing any tracks we can on the cell phone, any Internet searches, social media searches for him and kind of coming up with a dead end right now."
