Nine people died during an overnight sit-in in Cairo that led to clashes between supporters and opponents of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. The pro-Morsi protestors say that the victims were shot by snipers on rooftops during the sit-in. The Muslim Brotherhood have organized street demonstrations almost every day to protest President Morsi's removal.

Morsi's family accused the military of abducting the President. Since his removal on July 3, Morsi has is been held at an undisclosed location, according to army chief General Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. Since July 3, street clashes have led to the death of at least 100 victims.

Interim president Adly Mansour requested for reconciliation again in a nationally televised speech on Monday night. Since Morsi was deposed, Mansour appointed a team of experts to amend the constitution, which was suspended after Morsi was removed. Mansour says he wants to host new parliamentary elections by early 2014. The Muslim Brotherhood is refusing to engage in any talks with the army unless Morsi is returned to office, the currently deposed upper house of parliament is reinstated, and the constitution is honored again.

The United States, along with several countries, have requested that Morsi be released.
