NYC Bartender Performs Emotional Cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”
Cody Littlewood was at Brandy’s Piano Bar on the Upper East Side when bartender Joe Ardizzone offered the crowd an angsty treat.
According to Littlewood’s description on the YouTube video:
We were at a piano bar as it was closing down and the bartender stepped up to the mic and did this. He had been behind the bar working a full shift and shouting over the noise for several hours at least.
On his bio on the Brandy’s website, Ardizzone appears to be a regular performer as well as a bartender, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s certainly one of the best non-professional karaoke covers of “Creep” out there (although that might not be saying much?). It’s certainly better than Jim Carrey, Lance Armstrong, and Willow Smith.
Littlewood also gets some credit for acknowledging he’s holding the phone the wrong way when filming the performance, but hey, it was a bar at closing time. We’ve all been there.
