The NYPD can be relied on to take down or arrest all manner of dangerous criminal in New York: drug dealer, gang man, subway knifer, extremely famous tennis star, murderer, burglar, sidewalk griller. Now we can add another class of lowlife to the list: friendly neighborhood mailman.

Video circulating today shows a group of plainclothes officers cuffing a uniformed U.S. Postal Service worker named Glenn Grays as he makes his rounds, delivering packages from house to house in Crown Heights. The footage begins after their altercation has already started, so we don’t know exactly what’s going on, but according to Grays, he had previously shouted at the cops for nearly hitting his truck with their police cruiser.

In the video, we see the officers asking the mailman for identification, which he says is in his truck. Shortly thereafter, they cuff him and put him in the back of the car. Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who called for NYPD Internal Affairs to investigate the officers, said Grays was issued a summons at the station and released.

Another potential threat off the streets. Good work, boys.
