One Dead, Suspected Gunman at Large in North Carolina College Shooting
One person has been reported killed in a shooting at Wayne County Community College in Goldsboro, N.C. Monday morning. The campus is on lockdown as local police search for the suspected gunman.
Police confirmed to the Associated Press that authorities are searching for a white male suspect, about 5 foot, 11 inches with a goatee and a tattoo over his left eye. Daniel Wiggins, assistant operations manager for Wayne County, told CNN that the suspected shooter remains at large.
A student government representative told WRAL that the shooter was apparently carrying a long rifle and shot multiple people on a third floor print shop in the Wayne Learning Center.
Update, 1:52 p.m.: The print shop manager was shot and killed this morning. He apparently knew the shooter, "but it isn’t immediately clear what led to the shooting," the Wall Street Journal reports. Police are currently searching for a man named Kenneth Stancil.
