Paris Attack Suspect Also Admits Involvement in Brussels Bombings
A Paris attacks suspect has admitted to being the “man in the hat,” a figure seen on security footage alongside two suicide bombers at the Brussels airport.
According to Belgium’s federal prosecutor, Mohamed Abrini, the man in white in the above photo, said that he was there for the March 22 bombings that killed 32 people. BBC reports that Abrini is also wanted in connection with the Paris terror attacks, which killed 130 people last November.
“We confronted him with the video evidence prepared by our special unit,” a spokesman for the prosecutors’ office said, according to Reuters. “He had to admit it was him.”
A 31-year-old Belgian of Moroccan origin, Abrini is reportedly connected to the Islamic State.
