A Boeing 777 operated by Dubai-based airline Emirates was forced to execute a terrifying go-around after it missed its approach due to high winds at England's Birmingham Airport.

After a second missed approach, Flight 039 was ultimately forced to land at London's Gatwick Airport.

A Brussels Airlines Dash 8 plane was also battered about by the winds, and had to abort its landing in order to try again.

The second approach stuck and the flight somehow managed to arrive on time.

An airport spokesman told the Birmingham Mail that despite the difficulties brought on by the weather, no flights were canceled.
