St. Louis County police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of two police officers outside the Ferguson Police Department earlier this week, The New York Times reports.

A news conference is scheduled for later in the day on Sunday. The officers who were shot are reportedly both recuperating at home.

Update, 3:00 p.m. – Prosecutor Bob McCulloch has identified the suspect charged with two counts of assault in the first degree as 20-year-old Jeffrey Williams.

The prosecutor also acknowledged a theory that the shooter may have been firing on someone other than the police.

In response to a question at the end of the presser, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told reporters that Jeffrey Williams is African-American.
