President Obama Calls Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server "A Mistake"
President Obama tonight on 60 Minutes stopped short of describing Hillary Clinton’s ongoing email scandal as “not that big a deal” but did suggest the issue has been “ginned up” by political opponents for political reasons.
Then it’s settled!
Speaking with correspondent Steve Kroft, President Obama described the use of a private email server as “a mistake” but downplayed any potential threat to national security (via the New York Times):
“As a general proposition, when we’re in these offices, we have to be more sensitive and stay as far away from the line as possible when it comes to how we handle information, how we handle our own personal data,” Mr. Obama said. “And, you know, she made a mistake. She has acknowledged it.”
[...]
Mr. Obama said her possession of the email server “is not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered.”
Maybe not. Perhaps the security threats have been overstated. It’s a good thing Mrs. Clinton never clicked on those phony parking tickets! Clearly that is an example of the national security apparatus operating like clockwork.
