On Saturday, Republican presidential hopeful won the Conservative Political Action Conference's presidential straw poll for the third consecutive year, the Guardian reports. Only three winners of 20 previous CPAC straw polls went on to win the party's nomination for president.

According to the Guardian, Paul took 25.7 percent of the vote. Wisconsin governor Scott Walker came second, with 21.4 percent.

Paul's father, congressman Ron Paul, won the poll in 2010 and 2011, despite having failed in his campaigns for the Republican nomination in 2008 and 2012.

According to NJ.com, Chris Christie finished behind Donald Trump, with 2.8 percent of the vote to Trump's 7.5 percent.
