Police in Marysville, Washington have reportedly confirmed an active shooter at Pilchuck High School. Shots were fired near the school's cafeteria and students are locked in their classrooms, according to a teacher who spoke with KIRO. There are unconfirmed reports of six injuries, and a Life Flight helicopter has reportedly been called to the scene.

CBS News reports that three patients have arrived with gunshot wounds at Providence Regional Hospital—including one who was wounded in the head—and a fourth patient is on the way.

Between 50 and 60 students were in the cafeteria at the time of the shooting, according to witnesses.

School officials said there is an emergency situation at the school and the building is locked down.

Three students and a teacher reported hearing gunshots.

Casey Blakley and his daughter were driving by the school when they say the huge police response.

"About every 30 seconds school I had to pull over because there were so many cops and paramedics going by," he said. "The road was blocked off from about two blocks away."

UPDATE 2:46 pm: The Seattle Times, citing two police sources, is reporting that the shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

UPDATE 3:05 pm: Marysville police have confirmed that the shooter, a student at the school who they believe acted alone, is dead.

CBS News is now reporting that the three gunshot victims were shot in the head and are in critical condition. A fourth wounded person is reportedly in a less serious condition.

UPDATE 3:50 pm: Both CNN and CBS News are reporting that two people, including the shooter, are dead. Four people were wounded; three are in critical condition and one is in serious condition.

UPDATE 4:11 pm: Police have confirmed that two people, including the shooter, are dead. Students at the school that the shooter, a student at the school, was upset about a girl.

UPDATE 4:40 pm: KIRO TV has identified the shooter as Jaylen Fryberg, a 14-year-old freshman at Pilchuck High School. Their report matches tweets from students at the school, who identified Fryberg earlier this afternoon. Police believe Fyberg used a .40 caliber handgun in the attack.

In the days leading up to the shooting, the following tweets were posted to a Twitter account that appears to be Fryberg's.

UPDATE 5:38 pm: At a press conference this evening, police confirmed Fryberg died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The other victim was identified as a female student at the school.
