When James Gandolfini's life unexpectedly cut to black yesterday, many of his friends and colleagues issued statements in honor of his everlasting contributions to entertainment.

But perhaps no tribute was more touching than that of the Bloomfield, New Jersey, ice cream parlor where Gandolfini filmed the most memorable scene of his career.

Holsten's Brookdale Confectionery, where HBO's groundbreaking mafia drama series The Sopranos shot its unbelievable finale, recognized Gandolifini's passing by reserving the booth where Tony Soprano may have had his last meal.

Fans soon flooded the small-town joint to pay their last respects to a legend.

"During his down time, he’d be outside smoking a big cigar, talking to people," Holsten's owner Chris Carley told the New York Post. "He seemed like real regular guy."
