Surely Corey Lewandowski Will Have Plenty of Interesting Things to Say on CNN
Despite being fired in shame by Donald Trump’s enormous adult sons, Corey Lewandowski will not be exiting your life any time soon. This afternoon, CNN announced that it has hired Trump’s ex-campaign manager as a political commentator. Per Politico, the position is salaried and will make Lewandowski exclusive to CNN.
In theory, this could be really interesting. Somebody who was publicly embarrassed by Donald Trump now has license to speak freely about him and his campaign. Of course, that isn’t how political punditry works—Lewandowski will be tasked with carrying Trump’s water in useless back-and-forths with a Democratic counterpart, and he has already showed a willingness to play the part.
After being guillotined by Trump, Lewandowski went on CNN (*thinking face emoji*) to discuss his exit. Among the explosive revelations were that he’s “always had a great relationship with the [Trump] family” and that “if Donald Trump wins, that’s good for Corey Lewandowski.” I’m itching to hear more.
Also, Michael Calderone of the Huffington Post astutely pointed out that Lewandowski threatened to blacklist CNN reporter Noah Gray after Gray left “the pen” the campaign sets up at rallies to contain reporters. Who, of Gray and Lewandowski, do you think CNN will pay more?
