The denizens of internet troll hive 4chan.org launched an attack on Gawker Media's servers at noon Eastern today, apparently unhappy we wrote about how they coordinated the harassment of an 11-year-old girl. We survived the onslaught, but 4chan isn't done.

Jessi Slaughter, the 11-year-old vlogger and hate-object of 4Chan trolls, is now the subject of a suicide hoax circulating on Tumblr. The link to the "AP story" actually goes to that dumb Russian singer video. How witty!

Earlier this week, a funny video went viral of 11-year-old Jessi Slaughter (AKA Kerligirl13) crying while her dad yelled at the people trolling her on the Internet. It's not so funny now that she's been placed under police protection.

Last night, the users of 4Chan.org's notorious /b/ message board declared war on the lead singer of an obscure electro-pop band. More than 12 hours later, they're still waging it. This is how the Internet's worst trolls work.

Voting has closed on the unofficial poll to determine a destination for Canadian song-and-dance-man Justin Bieber's upcoming tour. And North Korea won! But not because the desperate, starving populace voted for him. It was because of the internet. LOL! [Faxo]

The plot to send Canada's kewtie to North Korea is heating up! The online poll (about where Biebs should tour next) now has 500,000 4chan-encouraged votes for the Communist stronghold. A North Korean official has basically said "We'll see."

Justin Bieber's fans are having a vote contest to see what countries he should tour. In second place and gaining momentum: North Korea. Obviously, this is the work of web-prank powerhouse 4chan, which also originated Bieber's recent syphilis rumor.

Like all great internet hijinx, it started on 4chan's anarchic /b/ message board. Late Sunday—shortly after Bieber was photographed with visible nipples and Kim Kardashian—4chan users pushed "Justin Bieber Syphilis" to the top of Google Trends.

Christopher Poole (aka "Moot") founded the unruly message board 4chan as a place for anime enthusiasts to hang out. Now it's a crazy, sometimes-scary morass of nascent memes, porn, racism. But Poole is about to go legit.
