With the imminent arrival of ten war veterans on scholarship, America's Most Annoying Liberal Arts College 's student newspaper has published an op-ed about how these special students should be treated. But first, a little self-righteous back-patting: "It is sadly ironic that Wesleyan is stepping up to provide important services to vets while the current administration is barely able to." Omigod, riiight? Like ten thousand spoons when all you need is some body armor!

Remember 'Dilbert,' the comic strip that pillories meddlesome bosses and deadening corporate culture? In the late 90s, its creator Scott Adams made millions of dollars licensing everything from the strip itself to dolls to "Accomplish-mint" to the "Dilberito", "a vitamin-packed meatless burrito." Now he manages a failing restaurant in a strip mall in California. Surprisingly to no one yet pleasingly ironic to all, he's a horrible horrible boss.

McSweeney's Publicist Inadvertently Provides Metaphor For Entire Company's Foibles

Publisher's Weekly editor Jonathan Segura was flattered and charmed to receive a handwritten note from McSweeney's publicist Angela Petrella. Until he opened the second galley of the book he'd received from that precious indie publisher to find an identical handwritten note—well, identical aside from its being handwritten in different handwriting. And yeah, that's what's wrong with McSweeney's in a nutshell, innit?
