At least two million residents of the Syrian city of Aleppo have been left without running water, the Associated Press reports, citing the United Nations’ children’s agency. The U.N. has called for a “humanitarian pause” to allow for repairs to be made to the contested city’s infrastructure.

According to Agence France-Presse, Syrian state media reported Tuesday that rebel forces had launched a rocket attack on a hospital in a government-held neighborhood of Aleppo, Syria’s second city, leaving at least three dead and 17 others wounded.

Overnight airstrikes in Aleppo have killed at least 61 people in 24 hours, Syrian activists say, including at least 27 people working at a hospital supported by Doctors Without Borders. Among the casualties were six hospital staff and three children, the Associated Press reports.

In a statement, the Pentagon confirmed that coalition airstrikes against ISIS in Syria “likely resulted” in the deaths of two children, the Guardian reports. The airstrikes were carried out in early November of last year against facilities in Harem, near Aleppo, controlled by the Khorasan group, an al-Qaida affiliate.
