Matt Cherette · 08/09/10 11:00AM

It was only a matter of time before Taiwanese animators NMA created one of their always-entertaining reenactments for Jersey Shore, and—to our delight—it's finally here! Watch as the entire cast, but especially Snooki, gets dissected in animated glory.

City Life, In Miniature Stop-Motion Animation

Matt Toder · 08/09/10 08:29AM

This fantastic short combines the elegance of stop-motion animation with matchbox cars and graffiti to create a perfectly current city scene. It's a nice reminder that the simplest shooting techniques can still be used inventively to create beautiful work.

The Angry Mob Kills Roman Polanski

Whitney Jefferson · 07/13/10 02:10PM

Now that Swiss authorities have decided Roman Polanski should not be extradited to the US, the animators at Crux have come up with an interactive YouTube cartoon where you decide—innocence? Or torture by way of Ryan Seacrest?

Animated Lecture on Motivation Nearly Defies Logic

Matt Toder · 06/25/10 10:15AM

This video combines the audio from a talk given by economist Dan Pink and the visuals from a UPS ad on steroids. It's intellectually stimulating and visually amazing as the talk is illustrated on white board as you hear it.

Tangled Will Not Be the Savior of Animation

Richard Lawson · 06/10/10 02:57PM

Here's a trailer for Tangled, Disney's terribly titled Rapunzel animated movie musical. The look of the film is inspired by "The Swing," though it's rendered in cold 3D computer animation. This is something of a disappointment.

The Simpsons Do Ke$ha

Matt Cherette · 05/03/10 12:28PM

What the more recent seasons of The Simpsons have lacked in terms of comedic creativity, they've made up for with wacky intros. Case in point: last night's opening, in which the entire Springfield gang performed Ke$ha's "TiK ToK." Video inside.

A Connecticut Yankee in King Lucifer's Court

Daniel Barnum-Swett · 04/27/10 10:45AM

Mark Twain: literary treasure, mustache aficionado, or child-hating Satanist? This claymation version of his unfinished work, The Mysterious Stranger, sends Tom and Huck and Becky Thatcher to the dark lord's abyss to contemplate life's meaninglessness. Kid stuff, really.

Saturday Shorts: Neighbours

Daniel Barnum-Swett · 04/24/10 02:00PM

Making metaphors on the futility of war through combined stop motion and live-action experimentation, two titular Neighbours fight to the death over the only thing they've ever had to share: the single flower that blooms between their identical homesteads.

Ugly Americans: What's Blood Got to Do With It?

Daniel Barnum-Swett · 04/22/10 11:47AM

Kristen Wiig guest-starred in a Twilight tale of vampires, love, and bureaucracy. Lt. Grimes' daughter fell for a bloodsucker, but neither father nor state would stand for inter-species romance—at least not until the couple completed the requisite seminars.

Ugly Americans: Let's Talk About Sex with Trees

Daniel Barnum-Swett · 04/15/10 01:01PM

Treegasm, a once in a lifetime mating ritual observed on last night's Ugly Americans, caused the deciduous denizens of New York ("treetures", if you're arboreal), to blossom sexually into boastful douchebags modeled after that Don Juan of reality television, Mystery.

The Teddy Bear Invasion Has Begun

nightintern · 03/15/10 11:18AM

Watch as an unending horde of Teddy Bears attacks a small ocean-side community. Cute as they may be, humans will not soon forget this fateful day, the day of the Teddy Bears.
