• CNN anchor and chief business correspondent Ali Velshi has picked up a new apartment on the Upper West Side. Velshi and his new wife, portfolio manager Lori Wachs, paid $1.85 million for an apartment at The Harrison at 205 West 76th Street. The couple scored a deal, too. • Luke and Julie Janklow have officially closed on the sale of their West Village townhouse. The 25-foot-wide home at 16 West 12th Street, which first went on the market for $24.975 million last year, had been listed for $17.95 million when it went into contract earlier this month. • Adriana Mnuchin, the wife of ex-banker/art impresario Bob Mnuchin, has sold a fifth-floor apartment at 956 Fifth Avenue for $7.5 million. She won't need to worry about moving, though. Mnuchin and her husband paid $20 million for a much larger apartment at 944 Fifth back in 2008. [Cityfile]

• The townhouse once occupied by Luke and Julie Janklow has finally found a buyer. The divorcing couple put the home located at 16 West 12th Street on the market nearly a year ago for $24.975 million. Now real estate developer Ara Hovnanian and his wife Rachel, who sold their sprawling co-op at 820 Fifth Avenue late last year, have reportedly closed on a deal to purchase the 25-foot-wide home. • Bankrupt gallery owner Larry Salander has cut $1 million off the price of his townhouse at 63 East 82nd Street. The 9,200-square-foot manse, which the alleged art swindler bought for $4.75 million in 2004, was originally listed for $25 million before it was was dropped down to $15.995 last April. • Two neighboring units at the Time Warner Center have come on the market for a combined $57.5 million. Psychic company founder Steven Feder has put his four-bedroom, 75th-floor apartment on the market for $34.95 million (or $10.47 million more than what he paid for it in 2008). Meanwhile, his downstairs neighbor, venture capitalist Doug Von Allmen, his duplex pad on the market for $18.45 million. The apartments can be purchased separately. • Lily Safra is making a move at 820 Fifth Avenue. The billionaire widow of Edmond Safra and longtime resident of the tony co-op building has sold her 12th-floor apartment for $40 million to Ken Griffin, the CEO of Chicago-based Citadel Investment Group. She won't be moving far. Property records indicate Safra paid $33 million to buy developer Ara Hovnanian's apartment on the 4th-floor, so she'll only be moving downstairs. [Real Deal]
• Stephen Rotella, the former president and chief operating officer of Washington Mutual, may be preparing to move back east. Earlier this year, Rotella sold his mansion in Seattle for $4.7 million; now he's paid a similar amount for an apartment in New York. Rotella and his wife, Esther, put down $4.1 million for a two-bedroom co-op at 101 Central Park West. The 2,200-square-foot apartment was first listed last year for $5.95 million. [Cityfile]
• Josh Grotstein, the CEO of the video sharing site Motionbox and a co-founder of the venture capital firm SAS Investors, is moving. He and his wife Leslie sold their apartment at 300 East 77th Street for $2.75 million. [Cityfile]

• Jann Wenner and his partner, Matt Nye, will soon be moving into new digs in Montauk. The founder of Rolling Stone and publisher of Us Weekly and Men's Journal is paying $11.9 million for a 6,300-square-foot home on Old Montauk Highway. • Whitney Houston has put her New Jersey home on the market. The 12,561-square-foot manse in Mendham Township is listed for $2.5 million; her guest cottage next door is no longer available, however. [Real Estalker, CB]
• Real estate developer Ara Hovnanian may have found a buyer for his fourth-floor apartment at 820 Fifth Avenue. Five months after the co-op's board rejected Jeff Blau's $31 million offer, the board has reportedly given the go-ahead to Ken Griffin, the CEO of Chicago-based Citadel Investment Group. The hedge fund billionaire is expected to pay "just under" $35 million. [NYP]
• It looks like Katie Lee is getting the West Village townhouse as part of her split from Billy Joel. The cookbook author is paying Joel $3 million for his share of the the Perry Street home, which the couple purchased in 2005 for $5.9 million. [NYO]

Jeff Blau, the 41-year-old president of The Related Companies, had been willing to pay a whopping $31 million for developer Ara Hovnanian's fourth-floor apartment. But Blau and his wife Lisa were told to get lost even before they had a chance to interview (and despite an intervention by the mayor). The 6,500-square-foot apartment, which happens to be former home of Tommy Hilfiger, can be yours for $36 million via broker Serena Boardman, provided you can pass muster with a board known for having the "strongest chins, highest noses and cruelest standards."
