The surprised-by-Beyonce dance party has struck again! After sneaking up on some schoolgirls in May, Beyonce shocked the crowd gathered for a Boys & Girls Club event at a Harlem Target store on Thursday when she appeared out of nowhere and began dancing along to her new song "Countdown" with some very happy young fans. Because that's just how she rolls. [via ONTD]

Watch Beyoncé's Explosive Glastonbury Opener

Seth Abramovitch · 06/26/11 08:18PM

Sex-powered soul superstar Beyoncé brought the house down tonight at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England. Here's the opening number: a pyrotechnically enhanced version of her defining single, "Crazy In Love." Reviews of the performance — which included familiar hits like "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and "If I Were a Boy," alongside covers of Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know," Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams," and Prince's "The Beautiful Ones" — have been glowing. The Guardian declares "she never puts a foot wrong," and The Telegraph calls her "a great, sassy frontwoman."

Here's Beyonce's Over-The-Top New Music Video

Matt Cherette · 05/18/11 09:21PM

Here's the brand new music video for Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)." It has all the makings of a great Beyonce video—lots of sexy outfits and booty shaking, for example—but ultimately falls victim to a "more is better!" mindset. Because, come on, do we really need a fierce girl army, dangerous animals on leashes, and exploding cars all in one place?

Beyoncé Sneaks Up on Teen Girls Dancing to Her Song

Maureen O'Connor · 05/04/11 01:24PM

There are ways to summon magical beings: A tooth under the pillow summons the tooth fairy. Clapping saves Tinkerbell. And a gymnasium full of school children line dancing to "Move Your Body" guarantees that Beyoncé shows up. Here's another video of stiletto-clad Beyoncé materializing during a "Move Your Body" workout, this time at P.S. 161 in Harlem. Apparently giving tween girls heart attacks is part of Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign? Although these girls are actually pretty blasé. I can't decide if they knew that Beyoncé was coming, or were just like, "Oh, like the viral video. Duh."

Beyoncé's New Single Is All Kinds of Bad

Brian Moylan · 04/19/11 12:37PM

I'm not going to try to pretend like I'm all above loving a Beyoncé song (even after hearing "Single Ladies" seven quadrillion times, it's still a jam), but her newest single "Girls (Who Run the World)"—which was leaked on the internet like all other hotly anticipated singles—sucks. I mean, it sucks really bad.

The Grammys Slim Down

Brian Moylan · 04/06/11 04:42PM

The bloated music industry love-in known as the Grammys has decided to cut the number of prizes it awards. Instead of handing out 109 trophies at next year's show, just 78 will be given out. That's a good way to start trimming the fat, but they didn't go far enough.
