One of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s main (if not only) defined policy goals is to erect an enormous, very tall, very expensive wall on the border between The United States and Mexico. Today, in a memo, Trump made it clear how he would pay for this wall—by bankrupting Mexico’s poor.

On Monday, as part of an agreement reached with the European Union, Greece will begin returning migrants to Turkey en masse—despite having approximately one tenth of the 2,300 border management officers needed for the job.

Congressional Republicans have a new plan to address unaccompanied minors crossing into the U.S. from Mexico. It deploys U.S. troops to the border and mandates "aggressive information campaigns" in Central American nations, as well as US-run "repatriation centers" on their soil.

Borders, America's second biggest book store chain, died this summer, its red-trimmed outlets sinking inexorably into a savage sea of red ink. (Beat that lede, Wall Street Journal!)
