Former Congressman Barney Frank visited the Gawker office last week to discuss Compared To What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank, the documentary about his life that’s now running on Showtime (and on demand). In front of a crowd, Frank and I discussed his doc, the closet on Capitol Hill, and his own coming out (which happened way back in 1987).

Police say that two teenagers in the Philadelphia suburbs broke into an area home in July, and weren't satisfied with just the one crime. While lurking around a house that didn't belong to them, they decided to cook up some "drug brownies" for kicks.

Nineteen-year-old Jacob Lavoro was arrested last month after police officers reportedly found 1.5 pounds of brownies, a pound of marijuana, digital scales, $1,675 in cash, and dozens of baggies with marijuana and hash oil at his apartment. Authorities in the case are saying he could face from five years to life in prison, if he is found guilty.

A pair of Houston police officers are being investigated for eating from a tray of pot brownies they confiscated from a teenage stoner, then chatting about getting "so HIGH...good munchies" on their in-car computer. KTRK reports:

North Andover High School saw their prom night cut short after four students became "violently ill" from eating some tainted pot brownies. Or maybe they just couldn't handle them? It's unclear. Fret not! A probe is underway. Once again, friends, a few bad apples have spoiled this absolutely horrendous-looking evening of rented tuxes and rubber chicken for the bunch. Unfortunately, the video from the event is pretty tame. If not a full-on Carrie moment, I was at the very least hoping to see one girl screaming that her corsage was trying to eat her. [WCVB]
