cityfile · 02/09/10 01:12PMIn an interview with Britain's Telegraph, Calvin Klein says Kate Moss was always a "difficult" model to work with: "I have worked with so many women, great ones, and Kate was always difficult." That may very well be true—working with any supermodel is never easy, especially one that subsists on a diet of vodka and Marlboro Lights. But what's it like to work for Calvin Klein?

Calvin Klein Strikes Again
cityfile · 11/09/09 02:03PMRemember that "controversial" Calvin Klein ad that went up this summer and then had to be taken down after a bunch of residents complained? The publicity stunt garnered tons of press, so now the company is back for more. An underwear ad featuring a "sweaty, glistening" Eva Mendes "tugging at the boxer briefs of a studly man" has gone up in its place and already outraged locals are speaking out against the "pornography" that's taking over the neighborhood. If all goes according to plan, you can expect Calvin Klein to cave in and take the ad down in about three weeks. And you can expect the next titillating billboard to go up again in three months. • Great news for those of you who have been dying to get your hands on Miley Cyrus' clothing line for Wal-Mart: The retail giant is scouting for a NYC location again. [Crain's]
• Rich parents aren't buying super-expensive designer clothing for their bratty kids quite like they used to, not surprisingly. [WSJ]
• First the Calvin Klein billboard on Houston Street was targeted by people who objected to its raciness; now it's been targeted by vandals. [Jezebel]
• The Calvin billboard isn't the only victim. Calvin Klein became a crime statistic himself when a thief ripped the East Hampton beach parking sticker off his Porsche. The police are now conducting a thorough investigation. [NYP]

Calvin Klein Defies the Gloomy Statistics
cityfile · 05/20/09 01:36PMThere's been lots of depressing news about the state of the Hamptons real estate market in recent weeks. Today, however, there's a bit of good news to report: Calvin Klein has finally started demolishing Dragon's Head, the tacky 50,000-square-foot castle in Southampton that he bought a few years ago. A smaller—but much trendier—minimalist mansion will soon rise from the rubble. And if Calvin remains bullish about the future, shouldn't you be, too? Of course you should. [Newsday, previously]
