Baby Killed by Falling Tree Branch at Central Park Zoo

A tree branch fell on 33 year-old Karla Riccuitti of Union City, NJ and her baby girl yesterday as they posed for a picture outside Central Park Zoo. 6 month-old Gianna Riccuitti was killed, and her mother was seriously injured as the father looked on.

A judge has ruled that the city—not the restaurant's previous operator—controls the name of the famous tourist trap, which closed January 1. Thank God. Now when it reopens, our grandmother won't drag us to "Tavern on the Park."

It has been snowing since yesterday morning. It is not the Snowpocalypse or Snowmageddon or Snowicane. It is just snow. It happens every year. And it is awesome, glorious, and beautiful. But when it's done being those things, it sucks.
