Abigail Breslin Is Not A Method Actress

DroppedCall · 06/16/08 04:30PM

Actors love to brag about the huge, painful physical transformations they under take to get into character. Whether it's Tom Hanks starving himself for Cast Away or Renee Zellwegger making the ultimate sacrifice of eating food to star in Bridget Jones Diary, your favorite stars will do whatever it takes to impress Oscar voters. That is, except for Abigail Breslin. The iPod touch loving, anti-Fanning first showcased her laziness when she donned a fat suit to play a chubby child beauty pageant contestant in Little Miss Sunshine. Sure, she's pre-pubescent and forcing a weight gain could have done some serious damage to her still-growing body, but a serious actress wouldn't have minded. The fact that her work was Oscar-nominee worthy must be considered a fluke. Real actors alter their bodies. All Breslin did was, ahem, act.

Channeling Drag Queen, 7-Year-Old Belts It Out On 'Today Show'

Feast your eyes and ears on 7-year-old Anthony, whose parents are doing their best to see that their son's considerable singing talent morphs him into some horrifying amalgamation of Haley Joel Osment and Clay Aiken. This morning, Anthony made his television debut on the Today Show, singing "Let It Snow" in the kind of voice that would have completely blown us away if we weren't so creeped out by his striking resemblance to Liza Minnelli (minus the drugs, extra weight and makeup). As it happens, his absolutely adorable dimples really don't compensate for the fact that he's doing a spot-on imitation of an ecstatic Chorus Line wannabe in his very first high school musical. Even Ann Curry looks weirded out, and that's saying something. Who in God's name gave him that hair-fluffing-move and will someone make sure they're never again allowed near children?

Corey Haim Has Seen Better Days

Doree Shafrir · 07/24/07 03:53PM

Remember the mid-'80s? Some of us do! And some of us were just at the right age to have a massive crush on Corey Haim. Remember how cute he was in Lucas? And The Lost Boys? And of course, his crowning achievement of the '80s, his star vehicle (sorry) License to Drive, with the other Corey, Corey Feldman, who was a much better actor but like one-sixteenth as hot. (Also! Everyone always forgets that Heather Graham played the hot chick in that movie! Weird!) Anyway, it always pains us to hear that our favorite child stars aren't doing as well as their once-bright futures portended. Today, we received a sighting that seemed to indicate that might be the case.
