Cougar Town, like many shows, details characters complicated social lives. So much emphasis is placed on drinking, pranks, and dating that we are left to assume they are paid by the wine bottle.

Last night on Cougar Town, the man better known as Scrubs' resident hard-ass Bob Kelso appeared as Courteney Cox's father. To the delight of Scrubs fans, he did a scene with Christa Miller (who played Jordan on the show.)

Jennifer Aniston made a guest appearance on the season premiere of ABC's Cougar Town last night. In this mostly lackluster episode, Aniston played Courtney Cox's incense-burning, hit-and-run perpetrating therapist.

Try as she did, her presence on air last night didn't get people worked up. Also today: Matt Dillon gets a juicy role, Angelina finds her leady lady, and two favorite Lost actors are getting together for a new show!

"It's a horrible title," said Courtney Cox when Ellen asked her about a possible new title for Cougar Town. As it turns out, the cast and producers wanted a new name, but C-Town and Family Jewels were deemed "too dirty."

During last night's Cougar Town, Lisa Kudrow guest-starred as a doctor with a venomous tongue who gives Courtney Cox her botox treatment— and a dose of insults. These two might have better chemistry as frenemies rather than Friends. Puns!

At least for the time being. While the wonderfully absurd workplace farce took home a bunch of Emmys on Sunday night, it hasn't had any affect on the new batch of comedies starting tonight. Prepare to frown.
