• After more than a year and a half of price cuts, Karen and David Fleiss have finally unloaded their apartment at 1030 Fifth Avenue. Part of it, at least. The couple first listed the duplex for $47.5 million in June of 2008 before deciding to list the lower floor on its own for $15 million. The price was reduced to $9.95 million back in June. Now they've managed to find a buyer for it. The third-floor apartment was sold for $8.898 million to Richard Duke Buchan III and his wife, Hannah. [NYC Co-op]

• Billionaire financier John Paulson has finally unloaded his house in Southampton, albeit for about $10 million less than he'd hoped to sell it for. The 7,000-square-foot home, which Paulson picked up for $12.75 million in 2006 and put up for sale for $19.5 million in 2008 before later dropping the price twice, just sold to an anonymous buyer for $9.99 million. • Karen and David Fleiss are cutting prices again at 1030 Fifth Avenue. The couple, who have tried just about everything to sell the 16-room duplex they first listed for $47.5 million last June (including dividing the apartment in two), have reduced the price of the bottom-floor unit from $11 million to $9.95 million. • Now that she's no longer with the Count, "Real Housewife" LuAnn de Lesseps has moved out of the couple's rented townhouse on East 62nd Street. She's currently staying at her Bridgehampton place where she's supposedly "contemplating her next real estate move." [NYP]

Desperation at 1030 Fifth

cityfile · 03/26/09 07:27AM

• It looks like Karen and David Fleiss are willing to try anything to unload their duplex at 1030 Fifth. The couple originally listed the apartment for $47.5 million last June. They then lowered their price twice and tried selling off just the bottom floor for $15 million. When that didn't work, they took the listing down and lowered the price of the entire eight-bedroom unit to $25 million. But that didn't work out either, so now they've re-listed the bottom floor once again, albeit for a more modest $12 million. [Cityfile, PDE]
• Frederick Hill, director of Berry-Hill Galleries, has sold his two-bedroom penthouse at 43 West 64th Street for $2.55 million. [Cityfile]
• The 24th-floor Trump International apartment once occupied by Rand Skolnick, the former CEO of Solgar Vitamins who died last year, has been discounted by $1 million after just a month on the market. It's now $7.75 million. [Cityfile, Trump Realty]

Another Price Cut for the Fleiss Duplex

cityfile · 02/10/09 08:19AM

• Last June, Karen and David Fleiss listed their duplex at 1030 Fifth Avenue for $47.5 million, later cutting the price down to $39.95 million and then $34.5 million. When that didn't pan out, they tried selling just the bottom floor for $15 million. Apparently that didn't work either, and so now the couple is back to offering discounts. The eight-bedroom spread is now on the market for $25 million, almost half what the couple was asking for it a mere eight months ago. [Cityfile, PDE]
• Bar Pitti owners Giovanni and Michele Tognozzi have paid $1.6 million for a five-bedroom house in Peconic on the North Fork of Long Island. [Newsday]
• Former Newsday publisher Raymond Jansen, who lowered the price of his Lloyd Neck home earlier this month, has gone into contract to sell the waterfront estate. [Newsday]

♦ Less than a week after it was reported that Justin Timberlake had gone into contract on a fifth-floor condo at the Pearline Soap Factory in Tribeca, the pop star has already closed on the deal. According to property records, Timberlake picked up the three-bedroom condo for $4.774 million, nearly half a million less than the asking price of $5.25 million. (He purchased the pad via an LLC called Just Us I.) You can see photos of his new place here. [Cityfile]
